Idaho families have every right to be alarmed and angry. On the official Idaho Department of Education website, under resources for Title III English Learner programs, sits a direct link to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “Learning for Justice” program. This was formerly known as Teaching Tolerance, which is what is listed on Idaho’s website. It is not some innocent tool to help children learn English or succeed academically. It is pure Marxism disguised as diversity education. This program is quietly embedded in state resources and aimed straight at our kids.
The program delivers a full dose of identity politics, Critical Race Theory, and activist training. It teaches children to view America as systemically racist and oppressive. It trains them to treat “whiteness” as an inherent problem. It forces every aspect of life through lenses of power, privilege, and grievance. Materials incorporate Black Lives Matter activism and gender ideology. These turn classrooms into recruitment centers for leftist causes rather than places of real learning. Defending Education’s tracker confirms this radical program has infiltrated 42 states and hundreds of districts. This includes the state level right here in Idaho.
Even more disturbing, the agenda works to undermine the nuclear family under the guise of inclusion. Traditional family structures of mom, dad, and children are portrayed as outdated or oppressive barriers to progress. In their place, the program elevates fluid identities, group grievances, and state-approved social engineering. This is classic Marxist strategy. It weakens the family so the state and its ideology can step in and reshape the next generation. Immigrant families in English Learner programs are especially targeted. They face this divisive indoctrination instead of immersion and assimilation into our Idaho way of life.
The SPLC has a long record of labeling conservative parents, faith-based groups, and parental rights organizations as hate groups. Now its materials are being recommended by our own state education department. Hardworking Idaho moms and dads in Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Twin Falls, and rural communities across the state are asked to trust public schools. Many do so, expecting schools to teach reading, math, history, and American values. Instead, schools may turn their children against their families, their faith, or their country.
This is a direct assault on Idaho’s foundational principles of faith, family, self-reliance, and individual merit. Parents are not being consulted. Transparency is nonexistent. Bureaucrats have quietly opened the door to cultural subversion, instead of producing intelligent people that will preserve our Republic. You know, what the Idaho Constitution demands.
Tuesday’s election and a stronger Legislature give Idaho voters the power to fight back. Demand the immediate removal of all SPLC and Learning for Justice links and materials. Support candidates who will conduct full curriculum audits. Back those who will enforce parental rights. Choose leaders who will refocus the Department of Education on academic excellence instead of ideological warfare.
Idaho children are not experiments for radical activists. Families deserve schools that build strong citizens. They do not need activists trained to tear down everything that made this state and nation great.
Vote for conservative candidates who hold public schools accountable. Vote like your children’s future depends on it. It does.
