As Idaho Republicans converge this weekend, in Meridian for the 2026 State Convention, the moment of truth has arrived. The Idaho Republican Party stands as the protector of limited government and fiscal sanity, and lead the charge on the front lines of defending American Family values. If you are a Republican that takes issue with that statement, then you are in the wrong party. Nevertheless, the Left has Idaho squarely in its sights, determined to replicate the conquest of Colorado. Once a reliable Republican stronghold, Colorado fell to progressive forces through relentless demographic engineering, massive outside money, and cultural capture. Idaho must reject that path with unbreakable unity, or we will wake up in a state we no longer recognize. This is not hyperbole.
“The whole end of the bullfight was the final sword thrust, the actual encounter between the man and the animal, what the Spanish call the moment of truth, and every move in the fight was to prepare the bull for that killing.” ~ Ernest Hemingway “DEATH IN THE AFTERNOON”
Colorado’s collapse offers the clearest warning. Solidly Republican for generations, it succumbed to floods of Democrats from deep blue states carrying big government expectations. Wealthy progressive donors constructed a ruthless machine of nonprofits, data targeting, and ballot initiatives that legalized marijuana, expanded spending, and shifted suburbs from red to blue. Republican divisions and donor fatigue (sound familiar?) sealed the deal. The outcome: higher cost-of-living, regulatory overload, urban decay with crime and homelessness, and a steady exodus of conservatives fearing their children’s future. Idaho faces the same cliff in the distance.
Our state ranks among the fastest growing in America, drawing people fleeing Democrat failures. Thankfully, a majority of newcomers embrace Idaho’s freedoms and strengthen our resolve as they have fled blue state tyranny. But, blue dots are growing in the Boise suburbs, along the lake shores of North Idaho, spilling outward from left-wing college towns such as Moscow and Pocatello, and sprouting like little blue spuds in the east. National left wing funding takes note of our growth. Progressive activists push ballot measures on abortion, education, medicaid, and elections. Without fierce unity and resources, the Treasure Valley and North Idaho will mirror Colorado’s Front Range decline, taking gun rights along with it.
This week’s convention is not optional networking, it is a war room where we either forge victory or invite defeat. Delegates must crush internal divisions and purity tests that weakened us. The recent primaries sent a clear signal: conservatives still scored victories, but the future requires disciplined governing on core issues. To secure Idaho is to hammer E-Verify, secure elections, protect parental school choice, and crush the abortion threat with an iron fist mobilization effort. We must also ease the unnecessary burdens by slashing property taxes, and enforcing spending restraint. Moderates who waver on Idaho First principles can step aside. Establishment-moves to the left that dilute our strength will be rejected. Our very survival depends on it.
Idaho’s economy proves Republican leadership works. Our state carries the least government debt per capita of any in the Union. Idaho actually ranks among the most fiscally sound mid-tier economies on the planet . Like all government that spend money, things can always improve, waste and fraud should always be rooted out. But Idaho’s recent success came under conservative Republican governance, not Democrat experiments or progressive schemes. We must never bend toward socialism. Never glance at Democrat promises that mask higher taxes, bigger government, and lost freedoms.
Unity alone falls short, however. Grassroots heroes knock doors, craft messages, build coalitions, and mobilize churches. They fire the volleys. But the Left’s machine runs on money earmarked for a one world government. Principled Idaho donors and business leaders who grasp the stakes cannot sit idle for the next two to four years. If you possess resources yet stand aside while progressives flood legislative races, initiatives, and suburban organizing, history will hold you accountable. The volunteers on the front lines need fuel: dollars for data, mailers, digital firepower, turnout machines, and legal defenses. Someone must supply the resources that power this fight, or grassroots energy will eventually break against a superior funded assault.
Picture 2030 Idaho if we fail: Our cities crippled by cost-of-living rises that drives out families, abortion centers re-opening everywhere, creeping sanctuary policies that mock our sovereignty, and tax hikes sold as compassion. A special election underway as Democrats are favored to win the newest 3rd U.S. Congressional seat, as amnesty appears on the horizon. Our children inherit a purple then blue state stripped of the liberty that defines us. That nightmare draws closer with every day of hesitation.
This weekend in Meridian must ignite our unbreakable rally cry: Idaho First. America First. No Retreat. No Weakness. Full Victory. Leave the convention resolved to end all division. Deliver total support for rock solid candidates and policies. Wealthy conservatives and leaders, you must answer the call. Match your principles with the funding that equips our warriors. Grassroots delivers the manpower and votes. You deliver the resources that secure triumph.
As long as I am in this fight, I vow that Idaho will not be Colorado. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. We possess the values, the recent conservative momentum, and the character to hold forever. But, that window of promises narrows fast.
Unify now. Fund the fight relentlessly. Or face your grandchildren and explain why you let the Left add the Gem State to their crown of tyranny.
The hour of half measures has ended. Idaho’s destiny balances on a knife edge. Let this convention launch our ferocious, unified offensive. Victory awaits those bold enough to seize it. Onward to Meridian. Onward Idaho, Esto perpetúa, if you can keep it.
