You all know that our primary goal at Citizens Alliance of Idaho is keeping Idaho’s legislature focused on preserving our shared values as outlined in the most successful legislator Pledge around.
So, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that we have paid an awful lot of attention to Todd Achilles as he voted his way to becoming the most radical Left Democrat Representative while in the State Legislature from 2024-2025.
Now that Mr. Achilles is running as an Independent for the U.S. Senate, we just wanted to remind people that while one can run away or hop back and forth from political party to political party, voting records are forever.
While a rising star in the Idaho Democrat party, Achilles continuously voted with the radical Left. His voting record makes this painfully obvious.
Here are ten of his most radical votes while in the Idaho Legislature.
- S1271 – Forced Pronouns Achilles voted NO on the bill that prohibited the government from forcing people to use preferred pronouns. In other words: He sided with compelled speech. That’s not “independent.” That’s pure left-wing orthodoxy.
- H668 – Taxpayer-Funded Sex Changes Achilles voted NO on prohibiting taxpayer-funded sex-change operations. Your tax dollars. Chemical and surgical transitions. He said keep the funding flowing. Call the bill whatever party label you want. This vote bows to the radical left.
- H710 – Obscene Materials & Minors Achilles voted NO on requiring schools and libraries to restrict minors’ access to obscene materials. Protecting kids from inappropriate books in public institutions was a bridge too far for him. That’s not moderate. That’s the cultural left.
- H264 – Men in Women’s Facilities Achilles voted NO on the bill to keep men out of women’s facilities in public buildings. Biological males in girl’s private spaces. He opposed stopping it. Independent branding can’t cover over this fact.
- H135 – Benefits for Illegal Aliens Achilles voted NO and wanted you to keep paying the bill for non-emergency care for Illegal Aliens. Some services that most citizens aren’t even eligible for! Todd wanted it to continue. Party labels are optional. The open-borders instinct is not.
- S1198 – DEI in Higher Education Achilles voted NO on removing DEI requirements from higher education. Todd wanted Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion mandates to stay. Is that what moderate independents want? This ideology is pure Leftism.
- H352 – Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity Instruction Achilles voted NO on prohibiting public school instruction on sexual orientation & gender identity. This is THE activist Left’s education agenda. Keeping SOGI curriculum out of school and letting parents teach their children about these sensitive topics is common sense.
- S1141 – Public Encampments Achilles voted NO on prohibiting homeless encampments on public property. The “Anti-Los Angeles / Portland / Seattle” bill. Todd rejected it. Public spaces for tents, disorder, chaos over public order is a Radical Left priority.
- H093 – Parental School Choice Tax Credit He voted NO on creating the Parental School Choice Tax Credit. Giving parents more choice over their child’s education was unacceptable to him. The Big Education Borg must be in control. Todd sided with the Borg.
• 10. Idaho Medical Freedom Act (H472 / S1023 / S1210) Achilles voted NO three times on this first-in-the-nation bill. Protecting Idahoans from vaccine mandates, medical discrimination, and government overreach in healthcare. Rejected it outright. Freedom seems too extreme for Todd. Control is not. Just watch…
Finally, flashback to 2024, Todd Achilles was the man behind the effort to bring Ranked Choice Voting and a Jungle primary to Idaho in 2024 with the Prop 1 ballot initiative. Deceptively calling it an effort to have “Open Primaries” again.
